Happy Monday!
Well it’s been another beautiful summer here in PEI and I’ve been lucky enough to be here for most of it. That is thanks to the second summer run of my show If It’s Alright With You – the songs and stories of Gene MacLellan. There are now just 6 shows left and I’ll be sad to tuck it away for the time being. I will be touring that show in the Maritimes in the Spring of 2019 and that may be the end of it, I’m not sure!
Upcoming Album Winter 2019
I’ve been slowly working away on my next record of original songs and I can’t wait to share these new songs with you all!
It’s been challenging to find time to finish it, but we’re getting close now! Look for it mid-winter 2019 with shows in support of the album in Canada and Europe.
The Song and the Sorrow
Also on my plate this fall is the release of the documentary I’ve been a part of with Island director Millefiore Clarkes, a production with the NFB. It’s called the Song and the Sorrow and takes a closer look at my relationship with my father and the lasting effects of suicide. It’s a little vulnerable for me as it is quite an intimate look into my life and heart, but I’m really proud of it, and excited to share it finally after three years of work. I hope that it helps to open up ore dialogue and conversations on mental health and the great need to remove the stigma of mental illness so we can all heal and find help for ourselves and those around us.
It will be premiering in Halifax this weekend for FIN Atlantic International Film Fest , and then off to Lunenburg, Toronto, Charlottetown and Summerside! I’ll post more about that soon.

Really looking forward to October when I can finally purchase a copy of The Song and the Sorrow from NFB. I’ve had a copy of Millefiore Clarkes ‘Island Green’ for a couple of years. She is very good. Gene MacLellan’s music was always there when I was a kid ❤️. I want to thank you for pulling this treasure together.
